About Black drop

From a Single Drop, the Future Emerges

Black Drop is more than a name — it’s a mindset. We rethink bioprinting through radical interdisciplinarity and a deep focus on real-world impact

Vision

Bioprinting the future: Scalable living tissues for every patient

We envision a world, where tissue analogues are used to develop patient-specific treatments that are available to every human being. We support that vision by providing precise and highly automated 3D bioprinting solutions to produce living tissue at scale with high cost effectiveness.

mission

High-precision bioprinting that accelerates medical innovation

We design and deliver high-precision, user-friendly 3D bioprinting solutions that empower research institutions, biotech companies, and medical centers to efficiently produce living tissues—accelerating therapeutic development, advancing regenerative medicine, reducing animal testing and enabling personalized healthcare.

Story

New Era of Biomedical Research

Founded in the heart of Europe, Black Drop Biodrucker GmbH has been at the forefront of bioprinting innovation, providing state-of-the-art hardware, software, and bioinks to researchers and clinicians worldwide.

We’re a team of biomedical engineers and biotech experts dedicated to creating advanced 3D bioprinting tools for scientists worldwide. Founded in Germany, with labs in Darmstadt and Porto, Portugal, we’ve grown from our first droplet-only bioprinter (SuperFill Robo) to offering modular and customizable bioprinters with up to 7 different printheads like our latest modular 3D bioprinter – the Black Drop Regenate. We see ourselves as a full-service provider with a holistic approach. This is why we complement our portfolio with specialized bioinks and organ-on-a-chip technology.

Collaborating with global distributors, we ensure our innovative solutions are accessible to researchers everywhere.
