Put the power of bioprinting directly in your hands! Our ergonomic handheld bioprinting system combines flexibility and ease of use in a compact, portable device. Designed for on-the-spot applications, it enables researchers and clinicians to explore the bioprinting field with minimal efforts. Applications reach from effortless dispensing of viscous fluids, contactless coating of medical surfaces, handheld DoD bioprinting, handheld extrusion bioprinting to scalable spheroid production. In short – it allows you to precisely handle viscous bioinks where and when it matters most!

Handheld Features

Dispensing bioinks into a specific crosslinking bath, spheroids or drug-/particle-loaden hydrogel beads can be produced at scale. Droplet speeds, volumes and quantities can be easily adjusted via the intiuitive interface.

Easy and precise dispensing of bioinks or viscous fluids with a viscosity of up to 500 mPas. Based on our Drop-on-Demand technology, droplet volumes can be precisely controlled by changing opening times, pneumatic pressure and valve diameter. The handheld station can be either used in constant shooting mode or with a predefined number of drops that are being dispensed, once the button is pressed.

The handheld system utilizes the same Drop-on-Demand (DoD) and DoD-Microextrusion printheads as the Black Drop Regenate Bioprinter, enabling contactless and extrusion bioprinting while ensuring full compatibility between both platforms. This seamless integration allows for effortless transition and workflow continuity. Bioprinting parameters remain consistent across both systems, enabling easy transfer of protocols without the need for recalibration.

The handheld station offers full temperature control of the bioprinting head. Heating is supplied directly by the handheld whereas cooling works by connecting an external cooling device.

The whole idea behind the handheld station is to make bioprinting intuitive and simple. That is why the user interface is very functional and simple while the handheld itself shines with an ergonomic design.
